3 Situation Where You Would Need EPC!

18/08/2015 17:35

Whether you are selling or renting a property, it is inevitable for you to make sure that your home has an energy performance certificate Surrey. Even if the building is newly built an exemption isn’t provided. The validity of this certification is generally for 10 years and its cost depends on the size of the property. Here are few things that you might want to know about acquiring the certificate.

Where to get it:

Landlord and property owners must contact an energy assessor from Surrey so that they can assess your property and produce a certificate. Estate agents can employ an energy assessor which works out cheaper for them. Since they have been in this industry, they should be able to recommend you to one of the assessors.

Which property needs certification?

Technically all homes need an EPC Surrey done, but to simplify any resident place which uses heating or air-conditioning needs to acquire this certification. If it’s a building then every part of the building which uses heating systems needs this certificate.

EPC for solar panels?

The answer is yes, you will need an EPC of band D or higher if you plan to install solar panels in your place. This is mandatory and there are no exceptions allowed in this since 2012. Anything that is lower than band D would be considered non efficient and your certification might not be considered valid.

Get your energy performance certificate today itself from Surrey to avoid fines from the council.
